AlgaEnergy co-leads two new EBIC Project Teams
13 10月, 2020In collaboration with the multinationals Syngenta and Novozymes, AlgaEnergy was selected to lead the “Microbials” and “Fork Stakeholders” Project Teams.
AlgaEnergy has been selected to lead two new working groups launched by the European Biostimulant Industry Council (EBIC), an organization whose objective is to regulate and promote the biostimulant sector in Europe and in the world, an association of which the biotechnology company is an active member since 2017.
As part of its strategy, the association has created new working groups that seek to find common positions throughout the entire value chain, in line with the implementation of the 'Farm to Fork' Strategy presented this year by the European Commission. The objective of this strategy is to work towards a healthier and more sustainable food system in the European Union, which is also a cornerstone of the European Green Deal.
AlgaEnergy has been selected to co-lead two of these 13 working groups. On the one hand, the 'Fork Stakeholders Project Team' group, led by AlgaEnergy together with the Swiss multinational Syngenta, will seek to interact with the end of the food chain, mainly with consumers and distribution chains, in order to increase visibility and knowledge of biostimulants and their important benefits to produce higher quality food, in a transparent, sustainable and safe way. Miguel Rodríguez-Villa Förster, Head of Expansion at AlgaEnergy, will represent the biotechnology company in this project.
On the other hand, AlgaEnergy will also co-lead the group ‘Microbials Project Team’, together with the Danish multinational Novozymes. Bachar Blal, who at AlgaEnergy holds the position of Regional Business Manager in France and North Africa, will represent AlgaEnergy in this working group. The working group will focus on increasing knowledge and promoting the benefits derived from the application of different essential microorganisms in the crops. Thus, contributing to the generation of a more conducive legal framework for their introduction into the markets as well as for the benefit and competitiveness of the European agri-food sector.
